It all began here. This company started with my attempt to build the perfect B8.5 headlight for my S4. I was never happy with the halogen turn signal bulbs, and LED replacements didn’t improve the overall look. What I wanted was a “modern” switchback style headlamp which used the DRL as the turn signal. Initial prototyping by hot gluing amber LEDs to the factory PCBs showed me this was possible. Over the years I tested dozens of LEDs and ran different prototype revisions in my own car until I finally found an amber LED with enough brightness to rival the factory OSRAM white LEDs for the DRL. From there I managed to reverse engineer the factory DRL boards, allowing me to design and build my own. The end result was this set of headlights with custom Gunmetal Trim, EMTuning Projectors, Smoked reflectors, and of course my Switchback DRL kit.
